New Jersey Airport Adventure Quest

As most local pilots know there is more to New Jersey than the guidos at the Jersey Shore. This state is home to many public use general aviation airports. In an effort to learn more about flying and to hone my skills I have decided to land at every paved airport in NJ. This is including Newark Liberty which should be quite exciting (and expensive). Now this is no small task considering there are more than 35 paved airports. I estimate (given my current net worth) this project will take many many many years to complete.

In searching for a good list of airports with all the details associated with them I came across a great site called OurAirports. You can download a single file with all of the airports in the United States and many abroad in a single file. You can parse them from there.

Twilight Landing Into LAX

I came across another cool video that is making the rounds. This is an in cockpit view of an instrument approach into Los Angeles International KLAX at sunset. It was shot with a Canon S95 in HD. I have the same camera and as soon as I take it into the cockpit I will be sure to write an airplane specific review. According to the video description it is SADDE Six arrival into LAX at 2,000ft.

Rob Holland’s Video – What I See 3

Rob Holland is an aerobatic airshow performer. He is one of the top aerobatic pilot’s in the country. I recently found this great video he filmed during the Daytona Wings and Waves Airshow 2010. It is a high definition camera mounted to his head and it gives an incredible pilot’s perspective view on his entire airshow routine. Check it out in full screen HD, you will not be disappointed.
